How reviews work
Reviews are only useful if you can trust them. Here is exactly how ours work.
How we collect reviews
Anyone with a Finder account can write one review per business, based on their own experience. You cannot review a business you own or manage.
What the verified badge means
A review shows Verified stay, Verified visit or Verified appointment when its author booked that business through Finder and the stay, table or appointment actually took place before the review was written. Cancelled, declined and no-show bookings do not count. Reviews without the badge are still welcome, they just cannot be checked this way.
Category ratings
Reviewers can optionally rate specific aspects, such as cleanliness for a stay or food for a restaurant. A category average is shown only once at least three reviewers have rated it.
Moderation and flagging
Anyone can flag a review that breaks our guidelines. Our moderators check flagged reviews and remove those that are fake, abusive, off-topic or written by someone with a conflict of interest.
Businesses cannot pay to change reviews
No plan, subscription or advertising removes, hides, edits or reorders a review, and none changes a rating. Owners can reply publicly to any review and can report one for moderation, like everyone else.
How to report a review
Use the Report link under any review. Tell us what is wrong and we will take a look. Read the review guidelines for what is and is not allowed.
