Riad Baladin

Everything at Riad Baladin was perfect for us. Felix & his team are exceptional. They go above & beyond to ensure their guests needs are met at all times. They gave us recommendations for places to eat, shop & explore. Our room was the Terrace & was perfect for us. Breakfast was plentiful & delicious & served on the roof. Using the jacuzzi was an added bonus. Well done to all at the Riad Baladin, we will definitely return to this magical place.

My wife and I stayed at Riad Baladin, and our expectations were blown away! They made us feel welcome and enthused about our stay. From the warm greeting of Felix, the manager, on arrival until the end of our stay, everyone made us feel at ease, and everyone was really helpful. The Riad is in an ideal location for touring Essaouira. The service is excellent, and the breakfast on the roof is fantastic. Felix provided us with useful tips about the place, which gave us confidence in an unknown city. We would return in a heartbeat, it is an incredible gem! The service and attentive the polite staff were a highlight of our trip. We experienced a very warm and welcoming staff, an excellent orientation of the Riad and surrounding area and a nice cup of tea and locally bakes biscuits. The location is close to all the markets and the ocean. They gave us tips on the best restaurants, banks, tourist areas, etc. We enjoyed lovely breakfasts with a tasty variety of breads, eggs, pastries, croissants, cereals, great coffee, dress squeezed orange juice and more! They provided fresh clean drinking water provided at no charge, assistance with luggage, laundry, daily room service, and a peaceful environment. The wi fi was strong, reliable and safe. We noted that a lot of effort is being put into regular cleaning and sanitation. The building is being improved with fresh paint and restoration. The management are obviously enthusiastic and proud of the facility. The rooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds, chairs and a big couch. The hot water is quick and ample wit a nice selection of washes, shampoo and soap. There is no air conditioning as it’s a breezy open area, always cool and comfortable in the summer. There is a 24 hr security guard on site and we left our windows open at night. I would not hesitate to recommend the entire experience to anyone looking for a great value place to visit and rest!

Felix and the team have done a great job here. It is such a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city - tastefully decorated, clean and so welcoming. The breakfast is delicious, and it's so lovely having it on the rooftop each day. My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend and we enjoyed reading on the terrace and got some great tips from Felix on where to eat, drink etc. They will also make you reservations for dinner and also taxis to the airport if needed - so helpful! I would love to come back :)

The manager Felix and the nightguard were the quintessence of great hosts! The Riad was such a reprieve from the busy streets, and with such pricing, it’s hard to complain. The location was easy to find, the interior was beautiful, and the breakfast was cherry on top. Thank you to the entire team for providing such a wonderful stay.

Great managers (Damien and Mona) and friendly staff. The location of the Riad is a 5 star! However the Riad needs a little bit of more care. In our room many broken items: toilet seat, clothes hanger, curtain rods, old taps. All the amenities were not available in the room (no shampoo for example). Overall it is a nice place to stay but with with more love and care this place can be amazing!

A delightful Riad, with a central location in the Medina. The staff are extremely accommodating and ensure you make the most of your visit to Essaouira by providing you with useful information of places to visit, activities to do and restaurants to eat at. I look forward to my next stay at Riad Baladin.

Nothing but praise for this small, simple but very well taken care of riad in the heart of the Essaouira medina. It's been a thrill staying here and I'll be sure to come back again, if availability permits it. I stayed 4 nights at the riad in Essaouira and upon arriving in Marrakesh, the proprietor Damien, made sure that my transfer was well taken care of: a private driver that picked me up from Menara Airport to drive me safely to Essaouira and the riad. Damien greeted me personally, explained about the ins and out of the city, gave some great recommendations about restaurants, culture and excursions, after which he showed me to my room. I stayed in the Creme Room, on the first floor in Maison A (there are 10 rooms in total). A cosy little room, with all necessary amenities. Breakfast is served daily on the roofterrace, a simple but very complete breakfast (breakfast until 12PM, which is great if you want to sleep in). Make sure to make use of the jacuzi at lease once; it's complementary for all guests! Upon departing, Damien arranged another private taxi for me to drive me back to Marrakech. Honestly, you can ask for anything and Damien or someone else from the riad will do their very best to accomodate you in your request. Damien and the staff are superfriendly and helpful; at least they made my stay very comfortable and worry-free, which allowed me to ultimately enjoy my stay in Essaouira. Nice thing: someone is always up for a chat, to check how you are and if you need anything. Very enjoyable! Riad Baladin is a simple and comfortable place, rather than decadent. But in a place like Essaouira, less is more and comfortable is all you need. I can definitely recommend Riad Baladin, you will not be dissapointed (I miss my room already)!
