Restaurant Sayef

Quiet local place. Nice people work here, decent prices for nice food!

After reviewing different places, we decided to try this restaurant. I wasn't expecting too much because most of the reviews were for the tagines and cous cous and I wanted grilled skewers. So I ordered a mixed grill and my mum had fish kababs, for starters we opted for moroccan salad. Whilst waiting for the food, we were given fresh bread, little herrings (herb and oil) and black olives that were mashed up with little pieces of crutony bread. We were surprised with the mini starters and they were really yummy, eapecially the fish. The salad was fresh and crunchy The mains was not what we expected at all, it looked really good and tasted even better. We finished with some ice cream. Overall a very good experience. All came to 430dh

Restaurant Sayef is a lovely little restaurant. All our food was delicious, in particular the chicken tagine. Staff were also friendly and attentive. Food also reasonably priced considering we had quite a lot of food :) thanks so much

Sayef is a kind and humble owner of an amazing restaurant inside the medina of Essaouira. There are plenty of options to choose from, and everything we tried was tasty and clearly made with care. We had no issues at all, and the staff were very attentive throughout the dinner.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal on our first night in Essaouira and it's been rhe best meal of our whole trip. Recommended by local friends, good food, nice ambience.

Straight up “wow!” If you go and there is a wait, it’s worth it. Hands down the best meal we had in our two week trip through Morocco

My wife, our two boys and I dined here twice during our stay in Essaouira, the best two meals of our time in Morocco and in fact a highlight of the entire trip. This is a characterful and extremely well-run restaurant with a great menu, delicious food and a friendly, attentive owner. Thank you, I hope to return one day.
