Dar L'Oussia

On the positive side, the location is superb. Take a right turn and you are on the beach. Turn left, you are a couple of minutes from the old souks. The rooftop view is equal to none. Our group has 4 rooms. Room 12 is of a decent size, however the street windows make it exposed to street noise that does not seem to go away until the wee hours of the morning. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to consider a room that has windows on the patio. Overall, we give it a small two-star score for "racial profiling". Twice a senior staff (Manager? Owner?) and a junior one tried to bounce us back when accessing our rooms from the main door, quite un-diplomatically, maybe because we don't look like their typical caucasian customer. Our girls were definitely not impressed. Upon bringing this mishap to the front desk, feedback was well taken and excuses were given: The rooftop attracts unwanted visitors, and staff are not able to distinguish between a passer-by and a customer. Mr. Manager, it is about manners.

The room was okay. The floor was a little dirty, but I think it's probably the location and this is the best we could find. We ate at the restaurant but we weren't impressed. They also take a long time, don't go there too hungry! There are lots of restaurants nearby. Sitting on the roof was nice and the staff was friendly. We had a local guide by the name of Rasheeda from Gate 1 Discovery Tour. She was very knowledgeable and funny!

Dar L’Oussia is a wonderful place to stay and I recommend it 100%. I have stayed here a few times. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, the roof terrace is amazing and the breakfast is delicious. All the staff are lovely and friendly and cannot do enough for their guests. I love this place!

Came to have dinner and was left utterly disappointed by the quality of the service and food. After waiting one FULL hour, we received our main courses: my friend ordered a "fish of the day" (bream) that was clearly NOT fresh, bad smell and bad taste, left it all there. My fish tajine was mediocre, the worst I've had in a week of tajine almost every day. The place looks nice but they don't change your fork and knife after you finish your plate and bring you water in a plastic bottle - very cheap. There seems to be so many good places to eat in Essaouira - don't be like us and fall for this trap!

It's a bit lacking in facilities, and there's a lot of noise early evening jn the courtyard, but it's a nice change from corporate places. Breakfast on the roof terrace is nice and it's only about 100m from the taxi drop off.

Riad clean and in a good position, just one minute from the beach, staff kind and good food in there, good wine and good desserts, big breakfast as well the only bad thing was the WiFi, really struggle with that but for the rest all ok , recommend

Good stay in Essaouira

I had the pleasure of experiencing an absolutely perfect moment at Dar L’Oussia in Essaouira. The massage combined with the hammam was simply exceptional: the therapists were truly wonderful, in an idyllic and incredibly relaxing setting. The entire team is superb, attentive, and welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I had already heard many good things about this hotel, but the wellness area exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a truly relaxing experience, far beyond what you'd find at a typical massage center. After an afternoon strolling and shopping in the Medina, ending the day here was pure bliss. We even returned the next day for lunch on the stunning terrace, which boasts one of the most beautiful rooftops in Essaouira. A must-visit!
