Between Friends in Hay Riad is a pleasant café with a calm and modern atmosphere, ideal for meeting up with friends, working, or studying. It stays open late, making it a popular spot with students, especially during exam periods. The service is good, the drinks and desserts are high quality, and the seating is comfortable. Its only drawback is its relatively small size, so it's often crowded. The presence of smokers can also be bothersome for non-smokers, and the decor is rather simple. Despite these minor issues, it's a good place to spend a pleasant time.

A shameful and deeply disrespectful experience. I went into this café in Rabat simply to ask to use the restroom. I explained that I wasn't a customer, that I was just passing through, and most importantly, that I'm diabetic. Instead of showing a modicum of respect and humanity, the waitress and a man downstairs (the manager) started laughing, as if my request were a joke. What's most shocking is that when the waitress explained to him that I was diabetic, this man came over and replied mockingly, "Well, I'm diabetic too," before telling me that I absolutely had to buy something to use the restroom. He even added that I had to "pay for cleaning," as if a health emergency should be treated like a simple matter of purchasing a product. Then he added, "Ma takhdach 9alat swab," when his entire attitude was precisely a complete lack of respect. I then went to the café across the street, "Agha Acham," and explained the exact same situation. There, I was treated with great respect, humanity, and kindness. This clearly shows that the problem wasn't my request, but the way this café chooses to treat people. I find this reaction unacceptable. Refusing access to the restroom to someone who explains they have a health problem, while simultaneously mocking them, is unworthy of an establishment that serves the public. I absolutely do not recommend this café.

Disgusting experience at the restaurant last night. After the match, I stopped by for a quick bite, and they told me there was nothing left. So far, so good. I went to the salad bar, saw it was full, and simply asked the cook at the counter, "What are you going to do with all these ingredients if you're not serving anything else and your salad bar is overflowing?" 🚨🚨🚨 To my shock, the head chef intervened and told me that they simply feed it to rabbits (as if I'm the boss here, I serve whoever I want). I went back to see the restaurant manager and simply asked him to put me in touch with the owner. He replied, "I'm the one in charge here, I'm not going to bother the owner with my complaint!" On top of that, I was already angry because of the World Cup match loss (according to the restaurant manager). I am shocked to have had such an experience in 2026 in Morocco, my country and my pride, which strives for progress, only to end up with such mentalities in a service industry—and I emphasize "service"—where, unfortunately, service is lacking. Arrogant staff in the heart of Hay Riad in Rabat, and managers with absolutely no conscience!
